Our pizzas are prepared in a natural wood burning oven, the only one of its kind in San Luis Obispo County. Our full bar is expertly managed by award winning Mixologists and our homemade tiramisu was featured on the Rachel Ray Show.

About
The story begins in the south of Italy in 1965. As a young boy, Chef Giuseppe Silvestre, discovered his love for cooking. His passion was further developed by spending hours in the kitchen, learning from his mother Giovanna. Rolling the fusilli, smashing the tomatoes and breading the eggplant was not just cooking to Giovanna, it was an art, and this mentality was passed down to her son. Giovanna encouraged her son to pursue his dream. She sent him to a culinary academy in Rome where he developed his own style of cooking, while maintaining the traditional Italian cuisine. With his degree in hand, Chef Giuseppe traveled to America with the dream of someday opening his own Italian
restaurant. From there, he met his wife Debra Silvestre, and together they opened a series of thriving restaurants. Although it wasn't until they opened Vieni Vai in downtown San Luis Obispo that they truly felt at home. Vieni Vai is a symbol of their hard work and sacrifice through the years. They have immense pride in the food they serve, and are happy to offer the people of San Luis Obispo a piece of their culture.

The oven was imported from Italy twelve years ago to create the most genuine, flavorful and scrumptious pizzas for our customers. We offer 10 specialty pizzas made with homemade dough and the freshest ingredients. The recipes for our specialty pizzas come straight from Avellino, Italy where Mama Silvestre hand-crafted them to delicious perfection as a treat for young Chef Giuseppe. Just ate at this restaurant and had a lovely experience. I felt as if I was back in Italy! The menu is authentic and the food reminded me of when I was on vacation in Italy. The seafood was fresh and the pasta that came with it was light but full of flavor. Next time, I am trying the pizza because it looked amazing. The thin crust and wood fired oven is the real deal. I would suggest stopping in this place to anyone who likes AUTHENTIC Italian, because if you know the difference then you will certainly enjoy this spot.

Definitely do their bottomless mimosa brunch on sundays. I had the steak sandwich with ciabatta bread, buffalo mozzarella, arugula and herb mayonnaise. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My friend had the Egg Pizza. It was a cheese pizza with an over easy egg cooked in the middle. Between the food and the endless flowing mimosas, we left happy campers. The service was great and they had football on all day.

VieniVai would be our weekly family restaurant if we lived closer. We only get to go when we visit SLO, but we love it so much. The food is perfection. It's so good. I weigh food quality heavily on how fresh the veggies and other ingredients are and I've been so happy with everything I've tried and seen here. I've also been to a party catered by VieniVai and again, so, so good. 5 Yums from me!! Oh, and I wouldn't be worried to go there on a diet. Dieters might fear Italian food, but it would be so easy to get a meal of protein and veggies that would make me feel totally satisfied. I'm planning our next trip as I write this!
Favorite Dish: too hard to decide. I've had a few and would try something new next time.

I'm a cal poly student and a group of us went in for the 1/2 off any pasta if you show your student id. I had the penne pasta with pesto and chicken. It was bomb and I only had to pay $6 for it. Thanks guys for understanding the broke collage student.

When my wife and I come in with guests (especially out of towners, we love showing this place off) we always sit in the main dining room, but when we're alone we usually prefer eating at the bar. It's the perfect spot to people watch, and if you make it in time you get to take part in their Happy Hour (3:00-600). $2 dollar beers and $4 dollar martini's? Yes please Also, you get the full dinner menuit's really a win-win for us.

Came in for farmer's market and sat at the bar, Jeff was bartending as always on Thursday nights. His drink specials are incredible. This past week, he was making a carrot cake martini, made with actual carrots! I was a little nervous, but he's never led me wrong before so I went with it.AMAZING! Jeff's a special guy working at a special place. There's no place else for me in SLO.

Just tried their brunch for the first time. It was thoroughly enjoyable. I had the nutella crepes covered in strawberries and my husband had the prosciutto ricotta omelet. Everything was delicious and reasonable. We also had their bottomless mimosas for only $5. We will be back!

Stopped by yesterday for Pizza. Somebody told me they had a real wood burning pizza oven. They were really busy but I still had great service and the pizza was delicious. This is now my go to spot for pizzas.
